Top International Venue For Two-Day Thundersprint

Each year, the Thundersprint grows and grows and so do organizer Frank Melling's ambitions. Frank said: "We have had two great years at Three Sisters, but the event has been crying out for an arena of truly international status. Now, we've found one! Victoria Park is the perfect setting for a big international event."
The Victoria Park Exhibition Center is mainly known as the venue for the Southport International Flower Show which attracts over 100,000 visitors each year. The park is located right in the center of Southport, two hundred yards from the beach, the all new funfair, and the world famous Lord Street shopping area. The area is surrounded by fine restaurants, night life, and fun things to do in addition to the Thundersprint. There is a huge range of accommodations, from basic Bed and Breakfast hotels to full five star luxury palaces.
The park itself has acres of space for camping, modern toilets - and an extensive network of roads. It is one of these roads which forms the track for the Thundersprint.
The course will comprise of a 250 yard straight, with a very slight kink in it, followed by a fast 90 degree left-hander, another short straight, then a tight 90 degree left, leading to the final straight. In all, a full quarter of a mile plus 100 yards for braking. The surface is excellent and, having never been raced on, is in lovely condition.
There will be a full program of events on Saturday, May, 12, including parades and concours displays. In addition to a full on the 12th there will be a full day's racing on Sunday May 13.
Guest of Honor and star rider will once again be six times World Champion and TT winner Jim Redman.
Admission for Saturday is £4.00 and £8.00 on Sunday. A pre-booked weekend ticket costs just £8.00 - and this includes entry into the parade.
